My team and I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the UK and Irish public and we just wanted to say thanks to the people who have helped us so far.
Huge thanks to Maggie from the Isle of Eigg for being so hospitable and raising £140 for War Child when we arrived on Eigg.

Thanks to Seaview House in Larne for the free night's stay in a real bed. I really needed it.

Thanks to Surfdock for the thermals. They saved me from the cold Irish waters.

Em at Calming Quay Treatments
Em offered me a 2 hour massage on my rest day which has really helped my shoulders. I keep forgetting how important massage is but not sure my crew signed up for that. haha. |
Steve and Kate
Dont know where to start. Steve followed my tracker and came to say hi when we stopped for lunch in St Agnes. They then offered us a place to stay and fed us like Kings for two days while dropping us off at the start point for each day. They also lent us their outboard motor as ours had issues and then drove ours to get it fixed and then brought it back to us two days later. Kate is a very accomplished swimmer so I was picking her brain for loads of tips too. Thanks Steve and Kate. Our few days around Newquay would have been a whole lot harder without you. |
Beth
Officially the coolest lady in Cornwall. Em and I were seperated from the support yacht due to huge swells and were left stranded on Portreath beach with no clothes and no money. Beth offered us a place to stay and good meal. Also Beth used to race mountain bikes in the early years and has a Rohloff Hub on her bike which makes her even cooler. |
